Sub-Chief Mbonge of the Kaonde people of Kapijimpanga chiefdom in Solwezi district, has called on the government to utilise part of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) to invest in water infrastructure.
The traditional leader said water is an essential commodity, stressing the need to ensure that the K40 million CDF allocation has a component for water development.
“Water is life and we want our people to have easy access to safe drinking water in their communities,” he said
Speaking during the handover of a water reticulation system constructed by Kansanshi Mine PLC recently, Sub Chief Mbonge commended the mine for coming to the aid of the people of Beacon area by putting up a water system that will enable them to access safe drinking water.
