Zambia Police Service Assistant Public Relations Officer Timothy Malumo said in a statement that Ms Muntali met the bond requirements and was released from police custody yesterday. Ms Muntali is facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact, contrary to sections 394 and 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Mr Malumo said the MP is scheduled to appear before the Principal Resident Magistrate’s Court in Isoka District on Thursday, September 17, 2026. “The Zambia Police Service remains committed to upholding the Bill of Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Zambia, including the rights of suspects,” Mr Malumo said.Engage with this story
