Former Ndola Central Member of Parliament Frank Tayali says a second term under President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to deliver more progress for Zambia, with focus on growth, job creation and economic stability.

Speaking in an interview with the media after the announcement of presidential results, Mr Tayali who is also former Transport and Logistics Minister said people will now receive growth and job creation beyond what the public sector alone can offer in the next five years.

“We are talking about creating a stable macroeconomic environment where the currency is stable, the exchange rate is favourable, inflation is in single digits, and reserves are healthy,” he said.

Mr Tayali expressed happiness that Zambians have decided to work with the United Party for National Development (UPND) government to continue with more development.

And UPND Copperbelt Youth Chairman Warren Hinyama has thanked the Zambian people for giving President Hichilema another mandate.

Mr Hinyama said the outcome of the General Election shows that Zambians have confidence in a man who is visionary.

“As a province we believe President Hichilema will not waste time but ensure that he continues in terms of development.

We are calling upon our colleagues in the opposition to allow President Hichilema to work and develop the country,” he stated.

Mr Hinyama said the re-election of President Hichilema shows that free education will continue as well as other programmes such Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

“When the economic statistics were low, President Hichilema ensured that it was stabilized,” he added.

And Copperbelt University School of Medicine Student Peter Mushota said the victory by President Hichilema means a lot to the students.

Mr Mushota said the students are grateful that government restored the meal allowance that was removed.

He highlighted that students, as well as the country will see more development apart from the meal allowance.

“We know that with the re-election of President Hichilema we are going to see those hostels at the Copperbelt School of Medicine, Micheal Chilufya Sata Campus being accomplished,” he noted.

Mr Mushota indicated that students remain hopeful that the promises made by the President will be fulfilled.
