“Home advantage” is a term that is synonymous with victory for most clubs. What happens when the team is far away from home?

Having a home stadium does not just increase the chances of getting 3 points but also allows the team to generate income from its fan base.

 In both the men’s and women’s leagues, there are some clubs that do not have their own stadiums; hence, they rely on hiring stadiums for match days.

 Particularly in the women’s super league, most of the clubs are at the mercy of other clubs with decent facilities. Yasa Queens Proprietor Danny Chima revealed that this is the biggest challenge for most clubs.

They find themselves spending more than anticipated; obviously two factors are at play: earning authorization for a stadium for league games is a thorough process, and some of the stadiums are below standard.

“The issue of the venue is a huge challenge for most of the clubs, especially women’s league; mostly we utilize Nkoloma and Sunset Stadium, which charge K3000 just for 2 hours.”

 With the complete rehabilitation of the Heroes Stadium, fans and clubs are anticipating an opportunity to utilize the facility at a more discounted fee for the clubs.
