Construction works for the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) offices in Kasama District in Northern Province have reached 90 percent completion.
Kasama Municipal Council Public Relations Officer Andrew Munthali has confirmed the development saying the project is progressing well and nearing completion.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr Munthali said the completion of the ZAPD office will provide a dedicated and conducive environment for the agency to effectively deliver services to persons with disabilities in the province.
Mr Munthali said the project will also improve access to disability related services and strengthen coordination of programmes aimed at promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities.
And Dean Dash Enterprise, the company contracted to carry out the works, says the company will deliver the project soon.
Company Director Dean Mumba who toured the construction site to assess the progress of works said the company is currently attending to the remaining works to ensure that the office is completed to the required standard.
The development of the ZAPD office is expected to contribute to improved service delivery by providing appropriate infrastructure for the agency to carry out its mandate and respond to the needs of persons with disabilities.
The construction project is being implemented in two phases, with Phase One costing K350,000 and Phase Two valued at K830,176 under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Kasama Central.
