Three men of Kasama District have pleaded guilty for trafficking in cannabis.

Before Magistrate Chapson Silwimba, were Victor Siniza, 23 of Chiba Village, Patrick Mutale, 41 of Simbeye Village, and Pethias Mutale 27 of Mulenga Hills, all of Senior Chief Mwamba’s Chiefdom in Kasama District.

This was in a matter that came up for plea in which the trio pleaded guilty to the charges.

The three were charged with the offence of trafficking in psychotropic substances contrary to Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act No. 35 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offense were that Mutale, on July 8, 2026, in Kasama District of Northern Province, trafficked in 50 grammes of a psychotropic substance, a herbal product of cannabis sativa without lawful authority.

In a separate case, Siniza pleaded guilty to trafficking in 250 grammes of a psychotropic substance, a herbal product of cannabis sativa on July 9, 2026, in Kasama District without lawful authority.

Meanwhile, Pethias Mutale also pleaded guilty to trafficking in 3.4 grammes of a psychotropic substance, a herbal product of cannabis Sativa on July 6, 2026, in Kasama District, without lawful authority.

The matters have since been adjourned to August 24, and August 25, 2026 for presentation of facts
