The UPND United States of America and Canada Chapter has distanced itself from six Zambians who recently staged a protest outside the United Nations building.

UPND USA-Canada Chapter Secretary General Andrew Mwape says only two of the six individuals are Zambians and do not represent the interests of more than 9,000 Zambians living in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Mwape says the chapter supports the development trajectory being pursued by President Hakainde Hichilema.

Speaking to the media in an interview, Dr. Mwape said that before the August General Elections, the chapter conducted a poll among 11,000 Zambians living in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Mwape condemned the conduct of the individuals, saying their actions do not reflect Zambian culture and values.

He said the chapter does not support such behaviour and maintained that the individuals do not represent the views of Zambians living in the United States and Canada.
