Application preparation
Mining graduate-trainee searches can include engineering, geology, processing, finance, supply chain, safety and technology streams. Choose the advertised discipline before preparing evidence. A general interest in mining does not replace the required degree or technical foundation.
Read the trainee criteria
Record degree discipline, graduation window, academic threshold, location, licence, professional membership and work-authorisation requirements. Check whether prior experience is optional, limited or required. Do not change completion dates to fit a cohort.
Distinguish a structured graduate programme from an internship, attachment or ordinary entry-level vacancy. Each may have different duration and selection stages.
Build a project evidence log
For two academic or attachment projects, record problem, setting, your assigned contribution, method, check, result and limitation. Identify group work and name what you personally produced. Do not present a simulation as operational mine experience.
Remove confidential data, site layouts and production figures. A small fictional or sanitised example with clear reasoning is safer than restricted workplace material.
Show learning, not false authority

Certificates should use their official titles and dates. Online learning supports preparation but is not employment, professional registration or employer authorisation.
Write the CV and interview stories
Lead with discipline, degree status and relevant project or attachment. Use bullets connecting action, check and result. Prepare stories about teamwork, safety or ethics, incomplete information and learning from feedback.
Explain when you would stop and ask for supervision. Graduate potential includes respecting boundaries.
Submit safely
Use the employer's verified portal, check the exact programme year and keep confirmation. Protect identity documents and never pay for an assessment answer, shortlisting or offer. An application guide cannot guarantee selection or that a cohort is currently open.
