President Hakainde Hichilema has arrived back home following a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Speaking to the media shortly after his arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, the President highlighted the investment commitments and policy measures arising from the Zambia–UAE Business and Investment Forum, and how they are expected to create jobs and promote growth for all Zambians.

Mr Hichilema cited investment agreements worth  over US$2.1 billion, noting that the figure could increase as further investments are to be finalised by tomorrow.

He called on the private sector to collaborate with the Government, and work together to deliver the agenda, saying it remains central to the Grow Zambia Agenda.

The President said the working visit was deliberately aligned with the Grow Zambia Agenda and that the Government is continually improving the business environment to support the private sector.

He urged businesses of all sizes to help advance the agenda, while the Government continues to create an enabling environment through infrastructure development, tax laws and other initiatives.

The Head of State said these efforts are intended to encourage reinvestment, create jobs and improve people’s wellbeing.

He added that, in turn, they would grow government revenue and increase reserves for future generations.
