KANCHIBIYA District Commissioner Chrispin Chilekwa has handed over two bicycles to Community Livestock Facilitators at Kabulamwiko Bulking Centre, describing the gesture as a demonstration of Government’s commitment to strengthening extension service delivery at community level.

The bicycles were handed over to Godwin Sinjela and Lawrence Musonda, who are responsible for providing veterinary and livestock services to farming communities in the Kabulamwiko area.

Mr Chilekwa said the bicycles were procured and provided through the Enhanced Smallholder Livestock Investment Programme (ESLIP), which continues to complement Government efforts to improve livestock production, productivity and market access for smallholder farmers.

He stated that the initiative was aligned with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of transforming the livestock sector under the K1 billion Beef Policy.

“The President has challenged us to grow our national beef stock and to make livestock a major driver of rural incomes, job creation and economic transformation. Programmes like ESLIP are critical in providing the tools and support needed to achieve this ambitious agenda,” Mr Chilekwa said.
