Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina has described the team’s 2-0 victory over Togo in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers as important.

Speaking during a post-match press briefing in Ndola on the Copperbelt last night, Lwandamina said his technical bench and players will continue working to improve the team.

He noted that the players are maturing and encouraging each other in every game, adding that with the likes of Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala leading the team, good things are coming.

Lwandamina called for total commitment from everyone ahead of the next AFCON qualifier matches.

And Togo coach Patrice Neveu said he was disappointed with the result but remained happy with the performance of his players.

Neveu noted that conceding an early goal affected Togo’s game plan.

He said Zambia capitalised on its speed to secure the three points, while his team failed to contain the home side.
