You can beat musicians, stone us, it won’t change will of the people — Mundubile

NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has condemned the alleged assault of musicians in Solwezi, saying violence will not stop Zambians from exercising their democratic right to choose their leaders.

Speaking at a campaign rally, Mundubile announced to the gathering that musicians who were scheduled to perform for his party were “beaten badly” in Solwezi while police officers allegedly failed to intervene.

“God is the one who keeps us. We had our musicians, and you love them. They have been beaten badly in Solwezi. Police officers were just watching and could not even rescue them,” Mundubile said, mentioning Rich Bizzy, Chester and Kaddafi as those affected.

He appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema, saying political violence would not change the will of the people.

“I want to tell my elder brother, President Hakainde Hichilema, that power is with the people.

“Even if you beat the musicians, stone Makebi and Mundubile, the people who are suffering are Zambians. If they decide that they are changing government, surely, government shall change,” he said.
