DR SISHUWA CONTINUES TO SOAR…

Stellenbosch University writes:

“Congratulations to our colleague Dr Sishuwa Sishuwa for being re-elected last Friday to Council, the highest governing body of Stellenbosch University. He gained a majority vote from permanent academic staff who were invited to elect a member from their ranks for a two-year term.”

Dr Sishuwa, a Senior Lecturer in History under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, was first elected to the Council in August 2024 when he obtained 51 percent of the total votes cast. This time, the Zambian-born historian received even more support, winning with 64 percent.

The Council is the educational institution’s highest governing body that is responsible for general oversight in respect of governance matters, strategic direction, approval of the budget, appointment of senior officers, the conditions of service of all employees, and overall administration of Stellenbosch University.
