HICHILEMA, UAE PRESIDENT DISCUSS DEEPENING BILATERAL TIES

President Hakainde Hichilema has held talks with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between Zambia and the UAE.

President Hichilema said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways of deepening cooperation between the two countries for the mutual benefit of their citizens.

He said Zambia and the UAE had in recent years strengthened diplomatic relations, including through the opening of diplomatic missions in each other’s capitals.

President Hichilema said the UAE remained an important strategic partner in Zambia’s implementation of the Grow Zambia Agenda.

“Our discussions focused on deepening these bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of our people,” he said.

The President also conveyed Zambia’s condolences to Sheikh Mohamed and the people of the UAE following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

“The UAE remains a strategic partner as we implement the Grow Zambia Agenda,” President Hichilema said.
