President Hakainde Hichilema has assured residents of Matero and Lima constituencies of more infrastructure development if voted for the second term of office, in the August 13 general elections.

Speaking when he addressed multitudes of Matero and Lima residents at Chunga grounds, President Hichilema committed to work on township roads in both constituencies, saying he wants all the township roads to be upgraded to bituminous standard.

He indicated that most of the township roads in Matero and Lima constituencies are in a deplorable state.

And President Hichilema further assured the people in the two constituencies of improved water supply once voted back into office, in the August 13 polls.

The Head of State said he was aware that water supply was a challenge in the two constituencies, pledging to work on the drainage system in Matero and Lima, noting that during the rainy season the said areas often experience floods.

President Hichilema said the improved drainage system will allow water to flow freely without causing flooding.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema has promised to build additional health facilities in the newly created Lima constituency.

The President said his goal is to ensure that women give birth in a safe facility.

President Hichilema also announced at the same community engagement that skills training centres for the youths will be constructed in Matero and Lima constituencies.

The President has since urged the people of Matero and Lima constituencies to also vote for the UPND candidates in the forthcoming general elections, saying voting for UPND candidates who include Councillors and Members of Parliament will enable him to easily deliver development.
