Overview We are Recruiting! Our client, a reputable Road Construction Company, is seeking an Engineering Surveyor to join their team in Kasempa District, Zambia. Role Purpose The Engineering Surveyor will provide technical surveying support for all Lot works, ensuring precision in setting out, control transfer, volume measurement, and compliance with construction tolerances. The role is critical to maintaining accuracy in alignment, earthworks, and structural works. Key Responsibilities • Setting out of all Lot works, including: o Road alignment o Culverts and structures o Toll plaza and weighbridge platforms • Maintenance of secondary control networks • Layer level conformance surveys against Appendix 6 D.4 tolerances • Volume surveys for records and measurement • As-built data capture and reporting • Daily setting-out support to foreman teams Qualifications & Experience • BSc in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Engineering Surveying, or equivalent • TEVETA Diploma acceptable with commensurate experience (minimum 15 years) • Minimum 10 years’ engineering survey experience on road construction projects • Expertise in: o Control transfer o Road alignment setting out o Earthworks volumes and layer level control • Proficiency with total station and GNSS rover equipment • GPS machine-control experience advantageous • Valid manual driver’s licence required Statutory & Compliance Requirements • Professional Registration: o Mandatory EIZ registration (Engineering Institution of Zambia Act) for engineers, technologists, and technicians • Medical & Licences: o Pre-employment medical fitness required (remote site work) o Valid manual driver’s licence required for supervisory and engineering roles • Verification: o Certified copies of qualifications o Proof of professional registration o Minimum of two contactable work references o Qualification verification is the Consultant’s responsibility prior to shortlisting Candidate Profile • Highly experienced in engineering survey for road construction projects • Strong technical skills in control transfer, alignment, and volume measurement • Proficient in modern survey equipment and software • Resilient and adaptable to remote site conditions • Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and reporting skills • Collaborative team player with professional integrity Location • Remote site, Kasempa District, Northwestern Province, Zambia • Residential position with accommodation in a site camp • Rotation/leave cycle to be agreed per grade Duration • Fixed-term contract aligned to construction programme (until December 2029) • Probation period in accordance with the Employment Code Act No. 3 of 2019 Application link: https://www.priconsultants.com/vacancies/job/10346
