Zesco United Board Chairperson Patricia Musiya has challenged players and technical staff to deliver a CAF slot as the 2026/27 Super Division season kicks off on October 3.

In a rallying statement ahead of the new campaign, Musiya said wearing the ZESCO badge comes with responsibility and the Ndola giants must compete strongly domestically and reclaim their place on the continent.

“We enter the season with clear ambitions. We want to compete strongly domestically, continue growing as a team and, importantly, get back to representing the country at the CAF stage,” Musiya said.

She said achieving the twin targets will require unity, discipline, commitment and a collective desire to succeed.

To the players and technical bench, Musiya urged focus and teamwork.

“Trust in the work you have put in during preparation. Remain focused, support one another and always put the team first. There will be challenges along the way, but our strength will be measured by how we respond to them,” she said.

Musiya assured the team of full board backing.

“The Board remains fully behind the team and is committed to providing the support necessary for you to perform at your best. In return, we ask you to uphold the values of ZESCO United, represent the Club with professionalism and give your very best every time you step onto the pitch.”

She also thanked supporters for their unwavering belief and urged them to continue standing with the team throughout the season.

ZESCO United, nine-time Zambian champions, missed CAF inter-club competition last season after finishing outside the top two.
