POLICE in Kitwe have recovered carcasses believed to be from two cattle suspected to have been stolen from Luanshya District.

The carcasses were recovered from a house in Garnetone, Kitwe, on Sunday morning.

Copperbelt Division Commissioner of Police Rae Hamoonga said officers from Garnetone Police Station visited the house after receiving a report that five men had been seen skinning two slaughtered cattle, one black and one brown.

Mr Hamoonga said officers recovered four pieces of carcass and a red Toyota Sienta,vehicle and apprehended one suspect identified as 36-year-old Tilimbali Nyirenda of Kitwe while four other suspects escaped.

Mr Nyirenda has been charged with being in possession of property suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
