Speaking when he appeared on the Diamond Breakfast on Wednesday, Malido said that the Authority has instead guided broadcasters to be transparent as they conduct the electoral surveys.
He said that opinion polls remain permitted provided broadcasters disclose the source, sponsor, sample size, methodology, and other relevant information to ensure transparency and credibility.
During the show, Malido also discussed the electoral coverage guidelines issued by the Authority ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
Today, the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director General Webster Malido featured on the Diamond TV Breakfast Show, where he discussed the IBA Election Coverage Guidelines developed ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
The guidelines seek to promote fair, balanced, accurate, and responsible election coverage by broadcasters, while strengthening professionalism and ethical conduct during the electoral process.
