ACTING Nalolo District Agricultural Coordinator (DACO) Patience Munalula says only 20 out of 500 farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) have started redeeming farming inputs for the 2026/2027 farming season.

Mrs Munalula says the 20 farmers are from Namabunga area near Senanga District, who sold their maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) in Senanga.

She disclosed that the remaining farmers are still waiting for the physical deposits to commence, as there is no FRA shed in Nalolo District.

Mrs Munalulu stated that lack of an FRA depot in the district has disadvantaged farmers as it delays them from accessing inputs to plant early.

“Our district predominantly starts planting early along the flood plains before the plains are flooded, or in case of drought. Delayed access to inputs affects our production,” she said.
