Independent Presidential Candidate Given Katuta has pledged to establish teaching hospitals in all provincial headquarters across Zambia if elected in the August 2026 general elections.

Speaking on Power FM’s Breakfast show this morning, Katuta said the move is aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and strengthening medical training institutions in the country.

She urged Zambians to support independent candidates at all levels of leadership, including members of parliament, mayors, council chairpersons, and councilors.

Katuta argued that independent leaders are more accountable to the people than to political parties and have the freedom to serve citizens honestly without pressure from party interests.

She also called for a rethink of Zambia’s political party system, saying the current arrangement has fueled regionalism, tribalism, and political cadreism.

“It is time Zambians moved away from the politics of division and focused on national unity and development,” she said.

Katuta noted that some political players had doubted her eligibility to contest as an independent presidential candidate, citing what she described as ignorance of the law.

She added that her candidature represents a new political direction focused on unity, development, and service to the Zambian people.
