PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema on Saturday met students from the University of Zambia’s Great East Road and Ridgeway campuses at State House.

He said sanitation challenges at Great East Road campus have been resolved, adding “a clean campus is a conducive campus.”

The President outlined government education interventions including the reintroduction of free education, restoration of meal allowances, and an immediate increase in accommodation allowances to K5,850. He said construction of student hostels will continue and that government is also addressing challenges affecting lecturers.

Hichilema urged students to “protect what we have built together” and to turn out to vote UPND on 13th August so that the work continues.
