Chilanga Member of Parliament, Sipho Hlazo has commissioned a 1×3 classroom block at St. Michael Secondary School valued at K1.28m.

Also commissioned is an ablution block at Sekelela Community School, constructed at a cost of K780, 000 also funded using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr Hlazo said the projects represent a significant investment in education infrastructure and enhanced social services across the constituency.

He said the classroom block will significantly improve learning space for the pupils, following increased enrolment as a result of the free education policy.

“When children sit in these classrooms, they will not only learn mathematics and science, they will learn that the government cares, that their dreams matter and that their future is worth investing in. We are building more than schools. We are building hope, improved sanitation and dignity through infrastructure,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Chilanga District Commissioner, Maureen Chilende, said the 1×3 classroom blocks and ablution block will provide a comfortable and conducive learning environment for learners.
