Zesco United forward Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba says the Ndola giants are targeting the 2026 MTN Super League Transition Season title and CAF club competition qualification when the league kicks off on 2nd October 2026.

Kampamba said Zesco wants to surpass last season’s performance that saw the club finish in the bottom half of the league.

He said: “We just hope that this season we are going to do better than we did last season. We always aim for the title, we always aim to play continental football. We are ready to deliver positive results this season.”

The striker said preparations are going well ahead of the transitional campaign.

“Preparation is going on well. We have played three pre-season friendly matches. In my opinion the team is more than ready for us to compete in this transitional league,” Kampamba said.

Zesco struggled throughout the 2025/26 season but have since made changes.

The club recently appointed Mwenya Chipepo as head coach and has recruited several new players, among them Chipolopolo striker Kennedy Musonda.

Kampamba expressed confidence that the new technical bench and signings will help Zesco challenge for silverware and return to continental football.
