ZELENSKYY  “UKRAINIANS DID NOT CHOOSE THIS WAR. WE CHOSE NOT TO DIE.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a stark message about Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“Ukrainians did not choose this war. We chose not to die. We are defending ourselves,” Zelenskyy said, according to the official transcript of his speech.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine does not discuss weapons and sanctions because it wants war, but because it is trying to defend itself. He highlighted attacks on Ukrainian cities, the impact on children and civilians, and the need to bring the war to an end.

He also warned about the rapid development of military technology, saying artificial intelligence could begin directly influencing battlefield decisions as early as next year and arguing that the world needs peace before such technologies advance further.

Zelenskyy called on countries to maintain pressure on Russia and restrict the resources Moscow uses to finance the war.

“Limit its money. Limit its war,” he said, arguing that Russia’s revenues should remain a target of sanctions.

Zelenskyy thanked countries supporting Ukraine and called on the international community to defend people’s right to security and peace.
