ZELENSKYY: UKRAINE CAPTURED TWO NORTH KOREAN SOLDIERS FIGHTING FOR RUSSIA

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian forces have captured two North Korean soldiers who were fighting alongside Russian troops.

According to Zelenskyy, the two soldiers were taken alive and later transferred to South Korea. He said capturing them was difficult because they were reportedly determined to die rather than be taken prisoner

Zelenskyy said one of the soldiers attempted to take his own life after realizing he was about to be captured, but survived.

“Those men are not easy to capture alive,” Zelenskyy said, adding that the incident illustrated what he described as the North Korean system of denying people freedom and choice while teaching them that they must die regardless of the circumstances.

He also called for international action to limit North Korea’s involvement in the war, warning that allowing its forces more time to gain battlefield experience could increase the threat they pose.

The claims were made by Zelenskyy; the circumstances surrounding the capture and transfer of the two soldiers should be understood in the context of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
