Nalolo District Commissioner Namatama Mupo has urged civil servants in the district to remain committed to their duties and contribute effectively to the Grow Zambia Agenda.

Mrs Mupo said the Grow Zambia Agenda can only be achieved if everyone performs their duties effectively and contributes to the economic development of the country.

She said public workers should be at the forefront of explaining government policies to citizens and ensuring that services reach everyone, regardless of their location.

“Our people will understand and contribute to the Grow Zambia Agenda if they are well informed of the policies being implemented,” Mrs Mupo stated.

Mrs Mupo expressed concern that some officers were not reporting for work daily, saying the situation undermines service delivery in the district.

She said civil servants should respect their jobs and demonstrate commitment, as the government relies on them to drive development at district level.

Mrs Mupo was speaking during the Third Quarter District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting held at her office.

Mrs Mupo has since called on heads of departments to monitor officers under their supervision and ensure that disciplinary measures are applied to those who abscond from work.
