Muchinga Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Brian Sichande, says the compensation of the identified households will commence soon to facilitate the smooth implementation and timely completion of the project.
During an inspection of the 15-kilometre road project, Mr Sichande expressed satisfaction with the progress of works.
He explained that the project was advancing steadily and that the contractor, China Jiangxi Corporation, is delivering quality work.
Mr Sichande said Government will remain committed towards improving road connectivity in Chinsali District, stating that the Nambuluma road project demonstrates its resolve to enhance infrastructure development and improve service delivery.
He observed that once completed, the road will boost economic activities within the Central Business District (CBD) and improve the movement of people, goods and services.
Mr Sichande further urged road users to adhere to traffic regulations and safeguard the infrastructure to ensure its longevity and continued benefit to the community.
And Muchinga Province Road Development Agency (RDA) Provincial Roads Engineer Peter Sinkonde, said the project has reached about 64 percent completion with approximately two kilometres already paved to bituminous standards.
Mr Sinkonde noted that the contractor has intensified works to ensure the project is completed within the scheduled completion date of November 30, 2026.
He added that the road project will be equipped with essential road infrastructure including streetlights, sidewalks and other road furniture.
Mr Sinkonde has further appealed to residents to desist from vandalizing the public facilities.
Meanwhile, Chinsali resident and motorist Lovemore Tembo, commended Government for rehabilitating the Nambuluma access road which had remained in a poor state for some time.
Mr Tembo stated that the upgraded road will ease the movement of people from the Great North Road junction into the Central Business District, thereby reducing travel time and improving convenience for motorists.
He also appealed to Government to prioritise the upgrading of township roads in the district to reflect Chinsali’s status as a provincial capital.
And another resident, Frank Sindazi, described the road project as a significant contributor to local economic development through employment creation and improved infrastructure.
