POWER Dynamos have extended head coach Osward Mutapa’s contract through 2029 following a successful run that included back-to-back league titles.

Mutapa has overseen one of the club’s most successful periods in recent history, leading Power to consecutive MTN Super League championships in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

He also guided the team to the CAF Champions League group stage and to the ABSA Cup final, achievements that prompted club officials to offer him an improved, long-term deal.

Club president Benny Simukoko said Mutapa is the right coach to lead the team’s ambitions.

“We have goals as a club and we believe Coach Mutapa is the man to help us achieve these goals,” Simukoko told the club’s media team.

Mutapa said he was pleased to extend his stay.

“I am honored to extend my stay at this great club until 2029,” Mutapa said. “We have achieved a lot together, but there is still more to do. Our target is to sustain success, compete on the continent, and bring more trophies to our fans.”

Mutapa will look to defend the league title when the transition season begins in September.
