Pavyuma Kalobo retains Wusakile Parliamentary seat

Pavyuma Kalobo of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) has retained the Wusakile Parliamentary Seat after polling 17,849 votes.

Mr Kalobo was followed by United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Chibesa Katayi, who polled 8,836 votes.

Independent candidate Rick Kamboyi came third with 1,519 votes, while another independent candidate Noah Chizinga polled 639 votes.

Citizens First candidate Mumba Ernest got 95 votes.

Wusakile Constituency Returning Officer Emmanuel Chongo declared Mr Kalobo duly elected Member of Parliament at around midnight.

Mr Chongo said a total of 29,434 ballots were cast, with 476 ballots rejected.

Mr Kalobo’s victory means he will continue representing the people of Wusakile in Parliament.
