JULIUS MALEMA SAYS HIS GRANDFATHER TOLD HIM HE IS ZIMBABWEAN, DECLARES “BEAT ME IF YOU CAN” AMID ATTACKS OVER HIS SUPPORT FOR AFRICAN MIGRANTS

EFF leader Julius Malema has reignited debate over immigration and African unity after revealing that his grandfather once told him that he is Zimbabwean.

Speaking during an EFF press conference, Malema said his family history has never changed his commitment to South Africa or his belief in Pan-Africanism. He argued that borders should not be used to divide Africans and rejected what he described as growing Afrophobia directed at foreign nationals living in South Africa.

Responding to criticism and threats from those who oppose his views, Malema declared, “Beat me if you can,” insisting that he would not be intimidated or abandon his position on defending African migrants.

The EFF leader also criticised the March and March movement, describing it as a vigilante organisation that, according to him, promotes tribalism and hostility towards African migrants. He said the EFF would continue to oppose any actions that target people because of their nationality or country of origin.

Malema’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions. Supporters say he is standing up for African unity and constitutional rights, while critics argue that his stance overlooks concerns about illegal immigration, border security and pressure on public services.
