President Hakainde Hichilema has thanked Zambians for entrusting him with another five-year mandate, pledging to work for every citizen regardless of how they voted.
In a message following his re-election, President Hichilema said the election had demonstrated that Zambia is a peaceful and democratic nation that settles differences through the ballot box.
He said his campaign took him across all 116 districts, where he witnessed first-hand the challenges facing citizens in cities, compounds, villages and farming communities.
President Hichilema said his administration would continue working with Zambians to address these challenges and deliver meaningful development across the country.
He also reached out to citizens who supported opposition candidates, saying his government had heard their concerns and would ensure that every Zambian benefits from national development.
The President said he was particularly inspired by the children he encountered during the campaign and pledged to build a better Zambia for future generations.
He called for unity and cooperation as the country moves beyond the election, saying the focus must now shift towards greater peace, prosperity and development.
President Hichilema concluded by reaffirming the national motto: “One Zambia, One Nation, One People.”
