Efforts to secure a police  Bond for Kasama Mayor Peter Chikweti Yuda are currently under way.

Legal representatives, family members  and well wishers visited the police station this morning with the goal of securing bond for Mr. Yuda however, law enforcement officials stated that bond could not be granted at the time because investigations into the matter are still actively ongoing.

 
“Despite remaining in police custody,  the Kasama Mayor remains in good spirits and holds high hopes” a source close to the matter has disclosed to Mano News.

Mr Yuda is facing charges contrary to Section 306 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia, following allegations of trespassing at the house of Northern Province Acting Permanent Secretary Ms. Beauty Undi Phiri on 14th August 2026.
