THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has granted Archbishop Alick Banda K80,000 bail in his own recognizance.

The court has further ordered the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Lusaka to surrender all his travel documents pending trial.

Archbishop Banda earlier pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of property reasonably believed to have been unlawfully obtained, relating to a blue Toyota Hilux registration number ALF 7734, allegedly obtained from the Zambia Revenue Authority.

The case is part of a wider investigation into approximately 22 ZRA vehicles alleged to have been improperly disposed of.
