Bodies of Zandile Tshuma and daughters flown to Zimbabwe for burial

The bodies of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, have begun their repatriation to Zimbabwe for burial, weeks after they were found murdered at the family’s home in Great Denham, near Bedford, England.

Family members confirmed the remains are being flown back and are expected to arrive in Bulawayo on Sunday, 2 August 2026. They will be transferred to a funeral parlour ahead of a church service and joint burial on Tuesday, 4 August.

Police discovered the three on 6 July 2026 after relatives raised concerns that the family had not been seen for several days. Post-mortem examinations established that all died from blunt force trauma, specifically head injuries.

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, the victims’ husband and father, also known as Mark left the UK via Heathrow Airport on a British passport days earlier. He was later arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa. UK prosecutors have authorised three murder charges against him. He remains in custody here, South Africa facing an unlicensed firearm charge while extradition proceedings continue.

A remembrance service held in Bedford this week drew nearly 500 mourners. Tributes described Zandile as devoted to her daughters and the girls as sources of joy in their community. Funerals are set for next week in Zimbabwe.
