BELGIUM TO DELIVER THREE MORE F-16s TO UKRAINE

Ukraine will receive three additional F-16 fighter jets from Belgium by the end of this year, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Belgium and other partners, including Spain, have also delivered urgent supplies of ammunition for Ukraine’s F-16s to address immediate operational needs.

The deliveries come amid earlier reports of shortages of compatible air-to-air missiles for Ukrainian F-16 crews. In some cases, pilots reportedly had to rely more heavily on the aircraft’s cannon when engaging aerial targets.

The exact types and quantities of ammunition delivered have not been disclosed. The additional F-16s will expand Ukraine’s fighter fleet, while the arrival of compatible weapons is expected to help sustain the aircraft’s air-defense missions.

Ukraine has been using F-16s to help defend its airspace against Russian drones and missiles.
