Hanchu ESS (Hanchu Energy Zambia), a commercial and industrial solar and battery storage solutions provider, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative (Commercial and Industrial) to join its team in Zambia. The role suits someone with a passion for clean energy, strong communication skills and a drive to grow business. Candidates need technical knowledge, proven B2B sales experience in energy storage and solar PV, and strong commercial negotiation skills, including for Government or public-sector projects. ACADEMIC AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a related technical/commercial field. • A combined technical background, including understanding solar and battery storage systems, and commercial expertise is strongly favoured. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Two to five years of direct sales or business development experience, specifically handling corporate, commercial or industrial clients. INDUSTRY FOCUS A background in renewable energy is preferred, including: • Commercial and industrial solar systems. • High-voltage lithium battery storage systems (ESS). • Industrial inverters, UPS systems or generators. • Heavy electrical equipment/EPC project sales. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS A proven history of achieving revenue targets, managing long sales cycles and securing high-value contracts with corporate decision-makers. TECHNICAL AND INDUSTRY COMPETENCIES • Ability to evaluate corporate energy requirements and understand load profiles. • Ability to explain technical specifications of Hanchu ESS solutions, including peak shaving, load-shedding resistance, emergency backup and microgrids. • Financial and ROI pitching skills: translate technical solutions into clear financial returns for business clients, demonstrating ROI, payback periods and electricity cost savings. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE • Strong understanding of the Zambian energy landscape, electricity tariffs, power deficit/grid issues and relevant industry regulations. • Existing relationships with Zambian commercial/industrial end-users, including mining, manufacturing, agriculture and retail halls, EPC contractors, solar installers or project developers. SOFT SKILLS AND TOOLS • Negotiation and closing: ability to pitch to executive stakeholders, including CFOs, Operations Managers and facility Directors, and close complex sales agreements. • CRM and reporting: experience using CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel for forecasting, and sales pipeline management tools. • Communication: business fluency in English.
