Huachen International Supply Chain (Tera Fleet Management) Limited seeks to employ a Fleet Operations Manager in the Flat & Acid Fleet Department to join our growing team. POSITION: Fleet Operations Manager (X1) DEPARTMENT: Flat & Acid Department LOCATION: Ndola, Sakania JOB PURPOSE The overall purpose of the role is to manage and oversee the supervision of the company’s fleet and staff operations. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Vehicle Dispatching and On-Route Operation Management — Take overall charge of fleet dispatch and route planning within Zambia and for cross‑border transportation (mainly from Zambia to mining sites including Kolwezi and Likasi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo), to ensure safe and on‑time delivery of cargo. Establish an emergency response mechanism to efficiently handle unexpected incidents such as vehicle breakdowns in transit, traffic accidents and detentions at checkpoints. 2. Fuel Management — Be responsible for controlling fuel issuance, the core cost of the fleet. Regularly verify truck refuelling data to limit irregular practices including fuel theft and unauthorized fuel resale. 3. Cost Control — Review and manage fleet and driver expenses across all routes, including toll fees, bridge tolls and minor local statutory charges, to ensure documentary evidence for every payment. Coordinate with loading‑unloading factories, ports or yards to optimize queuing and cargo handling procedures and minimise fleet transit delays. 4. Policy Compliance and Asset Management — Renew local transport permits and follow up on accident claims: oversee the full‑cycle process of damage assessment, incident reporting and insurance claims for traffic accidents, to maximise corporate recovery claims. 5. Local Team Management — Assist in formulating and implementing daily management rules, safe‑driving training and performance‑based compensation assessment systems for local and cross-border drivers. Cooperate with Admin and HR departments to properly handle local and cross-border drivers’ onboarding, resignation, disciplinary cases and potential labour‑office disputes. Uphold and guarantee company policy implementation to effectively manage local operation teams covering rewards & penalties, recruitment and development. 6. Vehicle Maintenance and Logistic Support — Work with the in‑house repair workshop to formulate and implement preventive maintenance schedules for heavy‑duty trucks from brands including CNHTC, Shaanxi Automobile and FAW, to minimize vehicle breakdowns. Review vehicle repair reports and spare‑parts requisition forms to prevent false reporting, concealed information and loss of spare parts. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or higher in Transport & Logistics Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or any relevant field. At least three (03) years of hands-on experience in cross-border fleet management or logistics/transportation. Proficient in the mechanical performance and common fault diagnosis of mainstream heavy‑duty trucks (such as Sinotruk Howo, Shacman, FAW, etc.). Highly skilled in Office software including Excel and Word; capable of independently compiling weekly/monthly fleet operation reports and benefit statements, with strong data analysis capabilities. Must be a paid member of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) Must be a resident in Ndola, or willing to relocate. OTHER PREFERENCES Must be thoroughly familiar with the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Zambia route, including all toll stations, rest stops, inspection points and the distances between each route. High sense of responsibility, meticulous work ethic, and strong management and execution skills. Familiarity with local traffic laws, traffic police procedures, and insurance claims processes. Excellent stress tolerance and crisis‑handling capabilities, strong sense of principles, integrity, and extensive on‑site management experience NOTE. All interviews shall be conducted in-person at our Sakania Office in Ndola. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. GROSS PAY ZMW25,000.00 TO ZMW30,000.00 PER MONTH.
