Self-styled Nigerian prophet Andrew Ejimadu, popularly known as Seer1, has called on Zambia’s security forces to arrest Patriotic Front senior official Given Lubinda and charge him with treason.

In a post on social media, Seer1 said Zambia “does not need any opposition” and claimed the country had not yet recovered from what he termed “Dudukwe’s Militias” — a reference seen as directed at incarcerated opposition leader Brian Mundubile.

“Please we don’t need any opposition, we have not recovered from the Dudukwe’s Militias, Given Lubinda, go and sleep,” Seer1 wrote.

He then addressed Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele, urging him to detain Lubinda:
“In fact Gen Zyeele, this is one of your clients, he’s one of them and must join them inside.”

Seer1 further claimed he had been told Lubinda intended to “resurrect the PF” and begin a national tour. He argued that Zambia needed peace to allow President Hakainde Hichilema to work without distraction.

“Anyone trying to organize any party must be arrested, the nation needs a break from politics,” he added.

The comments come weeks after police issued “warn and caution” statements to Mundubile and lawyer Makebi Zulu on August 27, following their arrest.

The two had taken refuge at the United Nations offices on Alick Nkhata Road after a military raid on Mundubile’s home on August 14, during which former Minister Mutotwe Kafwaya was shot dead.

The UN later handed them over to Zambia Police under an agreement brokered by the UN Secretary-General’s representative and President Hichilema.

President Hichilema has publicly accused Mundubile of allegedly forming or harbouring a militia with intent to overthrow government.

Eleven people, including key opposition figures, have been arrested in connection with the case. Most are currently detained at Mukobeko Maximum Prison and have not yet appeared in court. Other senior Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance members, including Bishop Trevor Mwamba and George Chisanga, also face treason charges related to the same incident.

Since the arrests, local and international organizations have condemned the detentions, calling them politically motivated.

Citizens First President Harry Kalaba joined those calls, urging President Hichilema to release Mundubile, Zulu, Bishop Mwamba and others.

“Zambia needs healing, dialogue and unity — not political score-settling,” Kalaba said. “We are one Zambia; one people. Election is just an election, not a war.”

Kalaba said the President “has the key” to releasing the detainees and urged engagement with political opponents. He also appealed to the First Lady to consider the impact on families and called for dialogue to restore political calm.

Be that as it may, the allegations made by Seer1 have not been independently verified and Lubinda had not commented on the claims at the time of publication.
