President Hakainde Hichilema has called on the residents of Chambishi to vote for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in the forth coming general elections on August 13th to enable the government to continue implementing its agenda.

The Head of state explained that voting for the UPND means continued development in the country.

Speaking during the community engagement at twalubuka schools grounds in Chambishi, in Kalulushi district on the Copperbelt Province, President Hichilema says his government will work on the reopening of Chambishi metals if re-elected in the August 13 general elections.

“We are going to re-open the Chambishi metals if you are going to vote for us in the forthcoming elections,” President Hichilema said.

The Head of state said government will continue engaging stakeholders over the Chambishi dumpsite to enhance mining activities, while stressing the need for legal and safe mining practices.

” We want to work on legalising mining activities, no parent wants to see their children dying anyhow like that,” said President Hichilema.

He stated that he will work on paying all the ex-miners that were not paid a long time ago.

He advised the residents of Chambishi not to make a mistake of voting for political parties that were busy copying the UPND manifesto.

The Head of State also disclosed that if re-elected into office, the UPND administration will pay for 16,000 people in Kabaso area to be connected to the national gride.

President Hichilema added that farmers will not be sharing a bucket of fertiliser once the UPND is re-elected.

” When you vote for us in these coming elections, I assure you that you will not be sharing a bucket of fertiliser,” said President Hichilema.

He stated that the Food Reserve Agency will be paying farmers within two days through their mobile money accounts.

He further directed Zesco limited to connect about 16,000 people from Kabaso area to the national electricity grid, stating that high connection charges should not prevent citizens from accessing power.

President Hichilema further announced that government will improve radiology services at Chambishi Hospital and rehabilitate township roads in the area.

He added that government remained committed to resolving the outstanding payments for former miners who are yet to receive their dues.

The President noted that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has been increased from K1.8 million to K40.8 million per constituency to accelerate community development in the country.
