Zambia : President Hichilema Orders Jobs For Mufulira Volunteers
Lusaka - Zambia: President Hakainde Hichilema has directed that all volunteer nurses and teachers in Mufulira District be employed.

Speaking during a community engagement meeting in Mufulira District, President Hichilema instructed the United Party for National Development (UPND) aspiring Members of Parliament candidates to compile a list of the names of volunteers for employment.
The President reiterated his commitment to continue creating more jobs for youths, highlighting that in the last four years, his government has employed 45,000 teachers,20,000 health workers and many more officers in the army, Zambia National Service,and Police.
“I Hakainde Hichilema,umubomfi wenu (your servant) have made a decision that all volunteer teachers and nurses will be employed, “the President said.
“God works through people and today He has used me to employ you,” Mr Hichilema added.
Meanwhile, the President urged Mufulira residents to vote for the UPND in order to enable them complete the various infrastructural projects being undertaken in the district.
“Vote for us so that we complete the Mufulira-Ndola Road, Mufulira-Mokambo Road, Kamuchanga Modern Market, and the Mufulira District Hospital,” Mr Hichilema said.
He stated that once re-elected, the UPND will continue with the social cash transfer programme, the cash for work Programme and the free education.
“In the Patriotic Front government children were failing to go to school due to lack of school fees, but due to our free education policy,2.5 million children have gone back to school, “he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Hichilema said he wants youths to conduct mining activities safely and legally.
Mr Hichilema said he is in the process of facilitating for youths to legally and safely mine at dump sites urging them to be patient and desist from illegal mining activities.
“No responsible parent would want their children to go and mine in where they can die, Bally is a responsible parent and I want youths to mine safely, no guns and no violence, “the President said.
President Hichilema said his government will also embark on the construction of Township Roads in Mufulira.
Meanwhile former Copperbelt Minister, Elisha Matambo highlighted some of the achievements of the New Dawn government.
Mr Matambo said the UPND government has constructed 6 level one hospitals, and also commenced construction of Mufulira District Hospital which had stalled for several years.
“Hospitals had no equipment and no drugs but under our government we bought equipment and medicines are now available,” he said.
Mr Matambo said the UPND have made several scores including resuscitating Mopani Copper Mine and Konkola Copper mine, the Free Education and building up of government reserves.
