This is according to a public notice dated September 2, 2026, signed by Chisamba District Council Secretary, Chamuka Muwamba and made available to the media in Chisamba.
Mr Muwamba said the call for applications is in respect of the 2027 CDF, stating that Chisamba District is expected to receive slightly over K80 million for both Chisamba and Mwomboshi Constituencies.
“Each constituency will receive an equal share of K40, 032, 549.91 to finance community projects, youth and women empowerment, and skills development bursaries,” Mr Muwamba said.
He urged members of the public in the two constituencies to seize the opportunity and apply for the various components of the CDF.
Mr Muwamba explained that 60 percent of the funds is designated for community projects to facilitate critical infrastructure development in the district.
He stated that the applications should be submitted using the recommended application forms, which are available free of charge from area councillors, constituency offices, or the Civic Centre under the Planning Unit.
Mr Muwamba said the deadline for submitting applications is October 16, 2026.
He has also urged applicants to follow the eligibility criteria for each component of the CDF to avoid having their applications rejected.
Mr Muwamba said one of the eligibility criteria for community projects is that the proposed project must appear in the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for Chisamba District, which can be viewed through area councillors or the local authority.
“The project must be identified and prioritized by the local authority, must be of benefit to the wider community, should use approved designs by the planning authority and take into account persons with disabilities.
“Proof of a bank account or mobile wallet registered for the group, the proposed project is being undertaken within the constituency, applicants must have been residents in the constituency for over six months,” Mr Muwamba said.
He disclosed that local citizens aged between 16 and below 35 years, who are in possession of a Green National Registration Card, as well as out-of-school entrepreneurs requiring up-skilling and re-skilling, are eligible to apply for skills development bursaries.
“The applicant must be a resident of the constituency for more than six months, and must be in possession of an admission or acceptance letter from any of the public TEVET institutions or the Zambia National Service,” he said.
Mr Muwamba said all application letters must be addressed to his office and submitted not later than October 16, 2026.
