ZAMBIA has called for accelerated action and stronger institutional coordination to ensure global commitments turn into affordable financing, jobs and improved services for ordinary families.

Representing President Hakainde Hichilema at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mulambo Haimbe noted that joint efforts are needed to turn global commitments into tangible results.

Mr Haimbe was speaking during the high-level event titled “Keeping the Momentum: Implementing the Seville Commitment.

Meanwhile, Mr Haimbe who attended another high-level side event on Climate Action and Just Transition, which was held alongside the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to building climate resilience and diversifying energy sources under the Grow Zambia Agenda.

Mr Haimbe stressed that Zambia is also focusing on strengthening agricultural adaptation and advancing a just transition as part of its climate action priorities.
