Zambia : BRE Congratulates President Hichilema On Re-election

The Bemba Royal Establishment has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election and swearing-in for a second term as Head of State.

The Royal Establishment has also congratulated all elected Members of Parliament, Mayors, Council Chairpersons and Councillors following the August 13 General Elections.

The Bashilubemba has further reaffirmed its commitment to work with the government of the day without aligning itself with a political party.

The Bemba Royal Establishment has since urged the government to use the new mandate to expedite development in Ulubemba.

This is according to a statement made available by Secretary to Mwinelubemba Chitimukulu, Richard Mukuka.

Bashilubemba also called for the need to reflect on the just ended electoral process with a focus on multi-partisan and christian values.

Meanwhile, the Bemba Royal Establishment cancelled the 2026 Ukusefya pa Ng’wena Traditional Ceremony of the Bemba People, which was scheduled for September 17 to 19.

The decision was arrived at during ‘Icilye ce Lamfya’, which was held at the Chitimukulu palace.

The Royal Establishment expressed regret over the inconvenience the cancellation may cause to sponsors, participants and members of the public who had made preparations for the event.

“All the sponsorships and donations that have been made to the ceremony shall be transferred to, and accounted for by, next year’s Ukusefya pa Ng’wena,” Mr Mukuka said.
