Trump Urges Zelensky to Stop Striking Russian Diesel Fuel Facilities, Citing Global Impact
U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop targeting diesel fuel production facilities in Russia, warning that such attacks could contribute to fuel shortages and harm the global economy.
Trump said the disruption was not primarily caused by the situation in the Middle East, but by the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“Mr. Zelensky must stop striking diesel fuel production facilities in Russia. He can attack other targets, but not diesel fuel, because it is creating a shortage. This is not due to the Middle East. It is due to what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. We have discussed this with Mr. Zelensky. There are many other targets. Do not strike diesel fuel, because it causes damage. It hurts the whole world.”
Trump did not specify whether the request was part of a formal agreement with Kyiv.
