Prudential Africa has become the region’s leading Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) business, with its Nigeria and Ghana operations consistently ranking No. 1 in-country and featured among the MDRT’s 2026 Global Top 100 companies worldwide, reflecting the growing strength and agency excellence of Prudential’s advisers across the continent.
MDRT is recognised internationally as the benchmark for professional excellence in life insurance and financial services. Over the past years, Prudential Africa has achieved a significant uplift in MDRT performance. In the first half of 2026, 275 Prudential advisers in Africa became qualifiers, following 662 in the whole of 2025.
This progress is underpinned by Prudential plc’s premier sponsorship with MDRT, a three-year global partnership launched in 2025 that aims to provide advisers across Prudential’s markets access to global learning, leadership development, peer networking and best practices sharing.
Emmanuel Mokobi Aryee, Chief Executive Officer, Prudential Africa, said: “Across Africa, more individuals and families are recognising the importance of planning for their finances. There is a significant opportunity for our advisers to make a meaningful difference in their communities. The momentum we are seeing is reflected in the fact that Africa is Prudential’s fastest-growing MDRT community globally, and we are incredibly proud of it. By continuing to grow our Agency force, we are expanding access to quality advice, servicing more customers and helping raise professional standards in the industry.”
Behind every MDRT qualifier is a clear pathway from recruitment to professional excellence, combining product and sales training, needs-based advisory coaching, mentorship from experienced leaders, and digital tools that enable advisers to focus on the parts of the job technology cannot replicate: building trust and understanding customers’ needs and goals.
Kachiza Kwenda, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Life Assurance Zambia, said “This recognition marks a significant milestone for Prudential Africa and reflects the commitment, professionalism and pursuit of excellence demonstrated by our advisers across the continent. In Zambia, it is particularly encouraging to see our advisers contributing to this growing culture of professional excellence. In 2025, we were proud to have 24 advisers from Zambia qualify for MDRT and travel to Bangkok, Thailand, for the exclusive global MDRT Qualifiers Conference. Their achievement reflects the calibre of talent within our adviser force and our continued commitment to supporting advisers in attaining global standards of excellence.”
This momentum is backed by the scale of Prudential Africa’s parent company, Prudential plc, which operates the second-largest MDRT agency force in the world. In its half-year results for the six months to June 2026, Prudential plc reported an 8 per cent increase in new business profit to US$1,384 million, with margins expanding two percentage points to 40 percent.
Notably, agency generated 53 per cent of Prudential’s total new business profit, with new business profit per active agent rising 9 per cent year-on-year, reflecting the central role of a more professional, more productive adviser force to Prudential’s growth. In Africa, annual premium equivalent sales grew double-digit over the same period, with the business holding top three positions in several of its key markets.
Prudential Africa now has 12,000 advisers across Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria, up 71 per cent over five years, serving 2.6 million customers, up from 1.7 million in 2021. In Kenya alone, the company plans to grow its adviser force from approximately 1,000 today to 5,000 by 2031, creating professional opportunities for young Africans at a time when between 10 and 12 million enter the labour market each year.
Outside South Africa, life insurance penetration across Africa stands at 0.31 per cent with a density of just US$5 per person per year, representing a substantial opportunity. By investing in professional standards, technology and adviser capability, Prudential is building a future-ready advisory force to close that gap and to make financial security more accessible to the communities it serves.Prudential emerges as the only insurer in Africa represented in MDRT’s Global Top 100
