Osimhen Involved in Heated Clash With Defender

Victor Osimhen continued his impressive pre-season form for Galatasaray by scoring in their 2-1 defeat to Villarreal, but he also attracted attention after becoming involved in a heated clash with a defender.

According to a report by SCORENigeria, the Super Eagles striker put Galatasaray level in the fifth minute with a well-placed header after Villarreal had taken an early lead.

Osimhen later became involved in an altercation with Villarreal defender Santiago Mourinho after the Uruguay international appeared to hold him back during the match.

Both players were shown yellow cards following the incident.

Villarreal technical director Inigo Perez criticized Osimhen’s reaction, claiming the striker insulted Mourinho and aggressively confronted the defender.

“We came here in the name of friendship, but Osimhen made an inhuman move, hurled unspeakable insults at our player and went after him.”

The defeat came as Galatasaray continued their preparations for the new Turkish Super Lig season, which begins next weekend.
