KONKOMALIMBA KAPUMPE THINKS NEVERS MUMBA IS PREPARING TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2031

He writes:
Even if he doesn’t know it himself, Dr. Nevers Mumba will be a presidential candidate in 2031. This resignation is temporary, hence it’s been called a “step aside” . He has sensed a gap in opposition leadership, and his political instincts knowingly or unknowingly have pointed him in that direction. Whether the gap is real or not thats another discussion.

His first task is to “clean himself” with the opposition and without causing immediate “war” with the UPND. Which explains the neutral stance he has taken. He knows he can only become a strong opposition candidate if he does this first. He is trying to win back the trust of the opposition in this country.

The last election showed that even the lion can bleed, and the hyenas have sensed it. No disrespect intended , it’s just an analogy. He senses that there might be a good chance of UPND being beaten in 2031,knowing very well they have a new and unknown President candidate; and riding on 40% percentage vote from weak opposition in last election.

The neutral stance will not last long. Within a year, give or take, he will start hearing strong exchanges of word with the UPND leadership; before the political fight becomes fierce.

One of my friends said if he is sent abroad, he will use it to raise funds for 2031. To me, that press briefing was the launch of his presidential bid. It had clear hints of putting the UPND leadership on the back foot. You will see. Mark my words

And to be honest, he should have resigned months ago after realizing he would not be Veep. But he calculated that an abrupt decision would not have been appropriate.
