FAZ Copperbelt Chairperson Patrick Ndhlovu is rallying massive support for Chipolopolo ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against Togo at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zambia will host Togo on September 29 in Ndola for their second Group I match, immediately after Friday’s opener against Algeria in Tizi Ouzou.

In an interview in Ndola, Ndhlovu said the Copperbelt is thrilled to host another Africa Cup qualifier.

“I am happy that once again the Copperbelt is hosting this important Africa Cup qualifier between Zambia and Togo. On the Copperbelt we have people that love football and are passionate about the Zambia National Team,” he said.

Ndhlovu, the former Nkana FC president, said fans always create a fantastic atmosphere at Levy, Zambia’s only FIFA/CAF certified stadium.

“Fans have been filling Levy Mwanawasa Stadium almost full to capacity. It is good that we have been given an opportunity to host the games involving the National Team,” he said.

He called on fans to turn up in huge numbers so that Chipolopolo are not short of support.

“We call upon all the fans to come in huge numbers to support the National Team so that Chipolopolo are not short of supporters. With good preparations we will be able to carry the day,” Ndhlovu said.

He also urged fans to maintain discipline and observe safety rules.

“Fans have been conducting themselves well and we want them to continue. Let’s promote safety, security and harmony during matches. We know CAF and FIFA rules.”

Ndhlovu said fans expect a positive result against Togo as Zambia pushes for qualification.

“To our National Team, our supporters need good results. We are looking forward to seeing Zambia qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” he said.
