The H.H.MPAKA 2031 People’s Alliance has unveiled its new Chairperson, Febian Mutale, with a pledge to mobilize Zambians at grassroots level to participate in the Government’s Grow Zambia Agenda.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mutale said his appointment was not about holding a position but about serving a broader purpose of contributing to national development.

He announced that the Alliance has adopted “G” and “W” as its key pillars “G” for Grassroots mobilization and “W” for Wealth from Zambia’s soil.

Mutale said the Alliance will focus on mobilizing ordinary Zambians, not politicians, to understand and tap into opportunities under the Grow Zambia Agenda.

He explained that grassroots mobilization will involve listening to people’s needs and helping communities understand how they can benefit from government development programmes.

The Alliance says it will also advocate for reforms, restoration of confidence in governance systems, and continuity of beneficial programmes such as debt restructuring and free education, while pushing for more opportunities for youths, women and persons with disabilities.

Mutale said job creation and productive sectors of the economy will be a major focus, noting that Zambia needs to increase production.

On agriculture, he said wealth creation should start with natural resources, particularly land and water.

Mutale disclosed that the Alliance will work closely with the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) to ensure citizens access information on government programmes, including the Presidential Irrigation Initiative.

He noted that President Hakainde Hichilema has set a target of having 500,000 hectares under irrigation by 2031.

The new Chairperson called for greater youth participation in national development beyond political campaigns and stressed that opportunities for youths should be available regardless of political affiliation.

“President Hichilema is no longer president of UPND; he is President of Zambia and we are all Zambians,” he said.

Mutale appealed for peaceful politics and urged citizens to reject politics of insults and propaganda, instead promoting unity and development under the principle of One Zambia, One Nation.

The Alliance announced plans to embark on provincial launch tours to reposition the organization around the Grow Zambia Agenda.

He said the Alliance will publish its Grow Zambia blueprint after its full executive meeting and development of a roadmap.

Meanwhile, Mutale called on the media to partner with the Alliance by highlighting success stories arising from the implementation of the Grow Zambia Agenda.

He said the Alliance will closely monitor newly appointed Cabinet Ministers to ensure they remain connected to citizens and support the implementation of the President’s development agenda, noting that some previous ministers had failed to adequately engage communities.

The Alliance warned incoming ministers against isolating themselves from citizens and urged them to undertake countrywide tours.

Meanwhile, Bill Kapinga has been appointed as the new Secretary General (SG) of the Alliance.
